Russian American Foundation and National Arts Club is proud to hold an opening reception for Zurab Tsereteli - a recognized worldwide Russian artist of the highest caliber. Zurab Tsereteli is President of the Russian Academy of Arts, Founder and Director of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, and the UNESCO Good Will Ambassador. As an artist, Tsereteli is remarkable in the breadth of his mediums, which include painting and drawing, sculpture, monumental design, enamel, mosaic and stained glass. AN EVENING WITH VERA PAVLOVA The Poetry Society of America is thrilled to present one of Russia’s most celebrated poets. Vera Pavolova has published fourteen collections of poetry, and her work has been translated into nineteen languages. Her most recent collection, If There is Something to Desire: 100 Poems About Love (Knopf, 2010), is the poet’s first book in English, and occasions this distinguished reading. An award-winning poet, Pavolova’s fourth book, Chetvertyi Son (“The Fourth Dream,” Zakharov, 2000) was named the best book of the year by the Russian Academy of Letters and awarded the Apollon Grigoriev Prize, Russia’s most prestigious of its kind. Her work has been featured in The New Yorker, and as part of Poetry in Motion® in both New York and Los Angeles. This event is co-sponsored by The Russian American Foundation.
